Utterly awesome project from Bang-yao Liu [senior project at Savannah College of Art & Design].

“Where my idea comes from is that every time when I am busy, I feel that I am not fighting with my works, I am fighting with those post-it notes and deadline. I manipulating the post-it notes to do pixel-like stop motion and there are some interactions between real actor and post-its.”

This fantastic video for ‘Ankle Injuries’, off what effectively was their debut album ‘Transparent Things’, was directed by Wade Shotter. It was the first UK commission from the New Zealand director. Consisting of 1000’s of animated dice the stop motion video utilises the numbers on the sides to create subtle variations in tone… to great effect!

Wade is also responsible for shooting the video for the first single ‘Knickerbocker’ of the new album ‘Lightbulbs’.
